What We Offer
Preventative services include prophies and sealants. Sealants protect the adult teeth by sealing the grooves to help keep food and debris from sitting in them and causing decay. They are typically placed on children between the ages of 6 and 14. In addition to prophies (cleanings), we also offer periodontal services including scaling and rootplaning
Sometimes we get cavities even though we are doing everything right. When this happens, a filling needs to be placed. We offer both the traditional silver filling and the composite (white) filling material. The benefits and drawbacks of both will be explained and the decision will be the patients as to which material will be used.
In some cases we are left with no choice but to remove a tooth. This is usually a simple procedure that can be done in our office. After a tooth is removed, we have several options to replace it.
If a tooth is cracked or can no longer hold a filling, a crown is necessary. There are several options for crowns including all metal, metal fused to porcelain, and all porcelain. Depending on the circumstances, each has their uses. A bridge is multiple crowns fused together to replace a missing tooth.
In reality, all dental work is cosmetic. Anything restored or replaced needs to look great. However, we do offer professional whitening and veneers. Veneers are made from porcelain and are used to improve the appearance of the front teeth. Whitening is done with custom trays and professional strength whitening gel. This is the best way to get that whiter, brighter smile you always wanted.
An implant is the best way to replace a single missing tooth. It allows us to restore the tooth without causing damage to the surrounding teeth. The result is a non-removable replacement that functions like your other teeth. The implant is placed by an oral surgeon and restored at our office.

When decay or trauma has caused the nerve tissue inside a tooth the become infected or die, a root canal is needed. This procedure is done by numbing the tooth and removing the infected tissue.
A medicine is placed to seal the inside of the tooth. After a root canal, a crown is almost always required.
Working with children is both extremely challenging and extremely rewarding. Our goal is to help form good dental habits and provide positive dental experiences to prevent a fear or the dentist. We recommend a child is brought in at their first birthday to acquaint them to the dental environment. It also allows us a chance to educate the parent on how to care for their child's teeth. If your child does develop a cavity on a tooth, we try to save the baby teeth as they are holding the space for the adult teeth. We offer fillings, stainless steel crowns, pulpotomies, and extractions for children. We have laughing gas available if needed. With proper prevention, we hope we won't need to perform any of these services but they are available if necessary.
If several or all of you teeth are missing, a full or partial denture may be needed. Full dentures can be constructed to fit over implants to provide superior support and function. Partial dentures can be made from either plastic, flexible plastic, or traditional metal. Each case is different so we offer options to fit your needs and budget.
